FAQ
Questions clients ask us
What does Dealtran Legal focus on? +
We concentrate on mining and solid minerals, carbon markets and climate finance, and the community, land and local representation work behind mining, carbon, energy and infrastructure projects. We also advise on market entry, corporate and commercial matters, project finance, public policy, disputes, technology and real estate.
Where are you based? +
Our office is at 5 Kwaji Close, Maitama, Abuja. We work with clients across Nigeria and abroad, in person, by video call and on site.
Can you act as local counsel for a foreign company? +
Yes. We can act as your Nigerian legal point of contact, handle filings and correspondence with regulators and state governments, attend meetings and site visits, and coordinate local consultants.
How do I start a new matter? +
Send an enquiry through the contact page or email info@dealtranlaw.com with a short description. We run a conflict check, have a short call, and then send a written scope and fee proposal. Work starts when you sign the engagement letter.
How do you charge? +
We offer fixed fees for defined pieces of work, capped fees, retainers and time-based billing, agreed in advance. We do not charge fees that depend on a government body granting a licence, permit, approval or authorisation.
Do you advise communities as well as companies? +
We act for our client in each matter. Where a community or landholder needs independent advice in a negotiation with our client, we recommend that they obtain it.
Is the information on this site legal advice? +
No. Our articles and pages are general information about Nigerian law and practice. Please contact us for advice on your situation.
